Fun with Math

Clock in the Mirror

???????

what fun will we get when we see this post??

this is just about thinking ability, just use your LOGIC,
 

Joey leaves his house in the morning to go to day camp.

Just as he is leaving his house he looks at an analog clock reflected in the mirror.

There are no numbers on the clock, so Joey makes an error in reading the time since it is a mirror image. Joey assumes there is something wrong with the clock and rides his bike to day camp.

He gets there in 20 minutes and finds that just as he gets there the day camp clock has a time that is 2 1/2 hours (2 hours and 30 minutes) later than the time that he saw in the mirror image of his clock at home.

What time was it when he got to day camp?

MATH VS HISTORY

“Children, now it’s time to study Math?”
As teacher when you say like that, what expression will you get from your students commonly? Happy face and say,” Mom...i like it...” or bored face that you will meet in your class. I’m sure that every teacher has same experience. Every teacher will meet the bored face at the first time. It happened a lot. We must change the paradigm like that. In order to math not becoming as “scary material” but “fun material”
Besides history also have same paradigm like math. Many teachers who can’t give the best way to teach history make many students feel bored. The common way of history teaching just reading, listening, and memorizing. We are as modern teacher need to understand what students fell. We can know the students feeling by changing position. It means that how feelings are we when we get the way of teaching like that. When I see in history class, many students get sleepy. It’s the impact.
Math and history are two subjects that are very important in our life. We know that all of matter in this world begins from math. Math is basic skill or matter that we must expert it. Besides, History is our motivation to get our future. We know that history is about all of things that happened in the past. We can make equal between history and experience. There is a wise word that say, “Learning is better from experience”. So we can explore and learn from the past.
But nowadays students haven’t understood yet about the function of those two materials. So how we can change perception of students about that. It’s the best if we change the way of teaching into the new one. Besides, History of mathematic is also be the answer. Yes this is the new material that we’ll accept in third semester. It tells about the history about mathematic, all about mathematic. The formula, the founder, the story behind the formula, and many thing. Here, we can meet the fun of mathematic when comparing with history.
One of story that I still remember is story about Rene Descartes. He found the Axis line or coordinate line when he saw small house lizard (gecko), or we can say in Indonesian “cicak”. He felt confused to describe the place of “Cicak” it is. So he think he must use two coordinates. Those are y axis( vertical axis ) and x axis( horizontal axis ).
It’s just one story included in history of mathematic. I’ll tell you when I’ll get it again
